How can we support our commercial customers with electrifying their fleet?

As we continue to move into reducing fossil fuel emissions and electrifying our mobility infrastructures, Mercedes-Benz was pushing its electrification strategy forward by including their commercial customers by supporting customers with the right information before getting in contact with a sales representative or purchasing new vehicles through the online store.

This project came up as the engineering department wanted to understand the customer landscape interested in adding electric-powered vehicles into their fleets and why so that they can understand customer’s motivations and re-prioritize their development efforts when possible. I proposed an online questionnaire nested in the customer website to provide with recommendations based on the user’s responses. The content was gathered through internal requirements gathering from sales and marketing colleagues and benchmarking key components which would support a simple usr flow and lead-generation for new customer requests online. I conducted a small user testing round with direct stakeholders to move quickly with iterations during ongoing discussions for implementation and alignment with the web leads. The project did not continue, but I gained learnings about fleet electrification, the customer facing website’s infrastructure stack, and stakeholder management along the way.
